COMPARE

Rynex vs Crisp

Crisp is a support-first suite and a good one: a shared team inbox that goes multichannel from the Essentials plan up, a knowledge base and an AI agent, sold at a flat rate per workspace rather than per seat. Rynex is a sales agent and an AI-visibility layer — it recommends products, fills carts and attributes revenue, and ships a Support Inbox where a human can take over any conversation, with unlimited teammates. What it does not have is Crisp’s channel breadth.

Disclosure: We build Rynex. This is a vendor-written comparison — we have kept it honest by reading Crisp’s own pricing page rather than our sales deck, claiming nothing about them that their published pages do not support, and saying plainly where Crisp is the better choice. These two tools mostly solve different problems, and we say so below.

WHO SHOULD PICK WHAT

Most of this decision is one question: what is your bottleneck?

These two tools are not the same product with different logos. Below is the honest split — the cases where Crisp is the right answer come first.

Choose Crisp if

  • You need channel breadth, not just a website widget.

From the Essentials plan up, the omnichannel inbox centralises WhatsApp Business, Instagram DMs, SMS, Line, Viber and more alongside chat and email. Rynex is on-site only; WhatsApp and Instagram are roadmap for us.

  • You want unlimited human conversations at $0.

Crisp’s Free plan is free forever with unlimited conversations and 2 seats — no AI credits, but if the job is people answering people on a budget, that is a genuinely generous starting point and our free tier is metered where theirs is not.

  • You need help-centre and workflow tooling around the AI.

Essentials and up add a knowledge base, analytics and a visual workflow automation builder. We have no hosted help centre, no support-side analytics, and our visual flow builder is roadmap.

Choose Rynex if

  • The assistant’s job is selling, not deflecting tickets.

Live-catalog recommendations and variant-aware add-to-cart on Shopify, WooCommerce and custom storefronts, so a shopper moves from question to checkout without a broken handoff.

  • You need revenue attribution, not conversation volume.

Shown products, cart actions, source context and attribution windows stay tied to orders. Support suites report on chats handled and time saved; that is a different question from “what did this earn?”.

  • You want to know what AI assistants say about your store.

The GEO layer tracks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini recommend you, benchmarks competitors and fixes the technical layer (llms.txt, structured data, content signals). No support suite we know of, Crisp included, sells anything in this category.

  • You do not want to pay per teammate.

One meter — monthly AI conversations — with 100 conversations free every month. Seats are never metered: unlimited teammates, no per-seat fees on every plan, and unlimited human takeover from the Support Inbox. Crisp’s tiers step 2 → 4 → 10 → 20+ seats and charge $10/month for each agent beyond them.

PRICING MATH

How the two bills are actually built.

Not a price war — a difference in what each product charges you for. Read the model first; the worked example only makes sense after it.

Crisp: flat per workspace, plus seats and AI credits

Free is $0 forever with 2 seats and 100 customer profiles, but no AI credits. Mini is $45/month per workspace (4 seats), Essentials $95/month (10 seats), Plus $295/month (20+ seats); extra agents are $10/month each. The AI runs on a second meter: each tier includes a credit balance — $0, $5, $25 and $75 respectively — which Crisp’s own page translates to roughly 90, 450 and 1,350 automated conversations.

Rynex: one meter

Monthly AI conversations, and nothing else — no seat tiers, no credits, no second bill. Free is 100 conversations every month, recurring. Starter is $39 for 1,000 conversations, Growth $119 for 5,000, Scale $279 for 15,000. Going over never switches the assistant off and never charges anything extra. Seats are not a tier and not a meter: unlimited teammates, no per-seat fees on every plan, including Free, with unlimited human takeover from the Support Inbox — so the bill does not move when the team grows.

Worked example

A small store that wants roughly 1,000 AI conversations a month

On Rynex

Starter, $39/month for 1,000 conversations. One line on the invoice, no seat count, nothing switches off at the limit.

On Crisp

The published tier whose included credits reach that volume is Plus — $295/month per workspace, whose $75 of AI credits Crisp rates at around 1,350 automated conversations. Essentials ($95) is rated at around 450. Credits can also be topped up beyond the included balance.

What this does and does not prove: That is not an apples-to-apples number and we will not pretend it is: the $295 also buys an omnichannel support suite, a knowledge base and workflow automation, which Rynex does not sell at any price. If you need those, Crisp at $295 is cheap. The one place the comparison is fair is seats — Crisp steps 2 → 4 → 10 → 20+ and bills $10/month per extra agent, while Rynex never counts them, so a growing team changes their bill and not ours.

Crisp plan names, prices, seat counts and AI-credit allowances read directly from Crisp’s pricing page on August 24, 2026; Rynex figures from our own pricing page, same date. Prices change — check theirs before deciding. Crisp pricing page (opens in a new tab)

THE HONEST PART

What Rynex doesn’t do (today).

Short list, no asterisks. If one of these is a hard requirement, the comparison above already answered your question and the answer was not us.

  • No omnichannel channels. A human can take over any conversation from the Support Inbox, but WhatsApp and Instagram are roadmap scope, not shipped channels.
  • No support-side analytics. The Support Inbox reports on conversations and handovers; it will not tell you an operator’s satisfaction score or time saved the way a support suite does.
  • No customer-facing help centre. Store FAQs can be fed to the assistant as knowledge, but there is no hosted knowledge base for shoppers to browse.
  • No visual workflow builder — also roadmap.
  • A small review base. We are a young product next to a support suite with years of installs.

THE THIRD OPTION

Neither tool tracks whether ChatGPT recommends your store.

Rynex and Crisp both start working after a shopper lands on your site. The question upstream of that — do ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini mention you at all when someone asks for what you sell? — is a different product category, and the audit answers it without an account.

FAQ

Questions merchants actually ask us about Crisp.

Yes, and it is a sensible pairing — they do different jobs. Crisp owns the human support inbox across email, WhatsApp and social; Rynex owns the on-site selling conversation and the AI-visibility layer. The one real conflict is the widget: two chat bubbles fight for the same corner of the screen, so give the on-site bubble a single owner and let the other tool run the channels it is better at.
